Where the learning journey is an adventure

Wider Curriculum

You may know that the Relationship, Sex and Health Education (RSE) guidance will change from September 2026.  The government documents are here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/relationships-education-relationships-and-sex-education-rse-and-health-education

If you would like to hear from our PSHE lead on what the new curriculum will look like in September, please come along to our online meeting on May 14th at 4pm.  Please contact the Office for an invitation.

Here, we will share relevant documents, discuss the upcoming changes, and share information on your right to withdraw from certain elements.

You also have the right to see any materials we will be using from the Jigsaw scheme of work.  We are unable to share these publicly on our website.  However, please see your class teacher who will be able to provide you with a personalised access code to log in and look at Parent/Carer resources.

WIDER CURRICULUM

Our wider curriculum areas are led by the staff across the school. We plan for progression within a year and across the year groups. History, Art, DT and Geography are taught through our enquiries.  In addition, children in years N-2 enjoy Forest School curriculum activities.   We have designed our own scheme of work based on Pie Corbett’s ‘Talk for Writing’ in English.

We use a scheme of work for the following subjects: Maths, Science, RE, PSHE, Music, Spanish, P.E and Computing.

Please find below our curriculum progression maps for each subject in the wider curriculum. Please see our separate pages for Science, Maths, Reading and Writing.

Where a scheme is used, some the below maps may include coverage of the EYFS.  Otherwise, detailed information on our Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum (Nursery and Reception) can be found on a separate page.
