We will learn all about growing fruits and vegetables and we will plant some of our own.

Our enquiry this term is 'What Makes a Good Pet?'. We will be learning what kinds of animals make a suitable pet and why. We will be thinking about how best to care for a pet and how to keep pets happy, healthy and safe. We will be welcoming the children's pets into class and we will also be visited by a local vet.
We will be exploring a variety of texts to enhance our learning including 'What Pet to Get?', 'Dear Zoo', 'The Great Pet Sale', 'Thank You For Looking After Our Pets' and 'I'm Thinking of a Pet.' We will be continuing to develop our listening skills using Phase 1 phonics. We will be focusing on rhythm, rhyme and alliteration.
We will begin to deepen our understanding of early mathematical skills by developing fast recognition of objects, begin to match numeral with quantity and begin to compare quantities using language 'more than' and 'fewer than'.
